You may call them Mae. You may call them River. You can call them Moth.

Mae grew up in a very small town in New Jersey.  From the ripe age of 3, they were running around the coffee table to “Shout!” by The Isley Brothers.  Not much has changed! These days, they work as an interdisciplinary artist, largely focusing on acting, playwriting, composing, visual arts, and poetry, all based out of Philadelphia.  Memory related to neurodivergence, death (literal and otherwise), and resilience are key facets in their work.

River’s purpose is to unite and embolden those around them through the revolution of theatre making.   As a member of LGBTQ+ community, who are often overlooked in art, they want to inspire folks like them to cherish and scream their truest selves from the rooftops.  Mae is sensitive to the world around them and passionate as a forest fire. They approach every piece with thought, vigor, and soft hands.

As an artist, they are fascinated with exploring tension, color, and atmosphere in their work. Their perception of the world is highly colorful and the presence of that palette in their work is vital. Integrity is in a must. If they can make people laugh through heartbreak and cry through joy, then they are achieving their goal.

They received their BFA in Musical Theatre from The University of the Arts. Their acting training consists of the methods of Uta Hagen, Stanislavski, and Chekhov. In voice, they have studied a myriad of styles that range all the way from Punk Rock to Italian Operettas. They are trained in ballet, modern, jazz, and (a little) tap, and adore movement based work.

Mae is a budding playwright in Philadelphia area. In writing, they are very interested in the absurd and the poetic, and in talking about science and ghosts. Their upcoming musical, GHOST TOWN, will be featured in 2021’s Philly Fringe Festival where you can stream the concept album.

Currently, the work as a Sleep Guide for the WAVE sleep app, telling bedtime stories every single weekend, helping folks improve their sleep one session at a time.

Joy is a requirement, always.
